Islamabad is a city that has always been a source of awe for the nature loving and those looking for peace.
Its lush green fields, natural flora n fona is breath taking.
On one side is Margalla Hills which is surrounded by Jungle.
There was a time when Islamabad was a quiet city. There was no traffic on roads, the city confined itself from F-8 to F-6 and G-6 to G-9 sectors. The only main markets were Aabpara Market, Covered Market and Jinnah/Super Market.
Most of area was covered with jungle.
As soon as darkness spread, hawling of jackals started which made the kids scare.
Kids growing at that time still remember the winter evenings which were quiet and only thing heard was that of jackals screaming. Other wild life included pigs that used to cross the natural water flows also known as Nallahs and wandered in Islamabad streets in shape of groups at night.
Times have changed since then. As things changed and inflow of expats from abroad, that brought investment, new avenues opened. With development and expansion of city, new Hi rise buildings and malls have been constructed. Green areas are being cut due to expansion of roads. Moreover development of housing colonies in the adjacent areas of Islamabad has brought a lot of load on Islamabad.
This all has changed the outlook of city into more of a metrolpol like city.
However still due to Margallas Hills and Shakarparian National Park the city has much to offer. More than six hiking trails of various types are available for adventure lovers. Rawal Dam Park is great source for people who love beach side picnics.
Islamabad is gateway to the North of Pakistan which is a great attraction for tourists. Each year lots of travellers from around the country and abroad throng to the city, stay in Hotels and Guest Houses and then travel towards the Northern Areas.
According to some surveys Islamabad is ranked amonst top most beautiful capitals of the world.
So now its a city worth visiting with mix of natural beauty and metropol attractions, malls restaurants and modern traffic network.
